41 Years and Counting!

Good Morning from Missouri!

Today Norm and I have been married 41 years. It seems like a long time and then again it also seems like a short time. I remember it well meeting at the bus stop in front of our apartments. I missed my bus and he took me to work, then out to dinner and that’s how it all began 41 years ago. I guess the most memorable part is that we not only arrived late to our wedding but we arrived together. A Lady Pastor married us and that was unusual at the time. Since then a lot of our Children have had Women preside over their weddings. I guess we started a trend. We have been Blessed with 5 children and 9 grandchildren plus 2 son-n-laws, 1 daughter-n-law and a host of extended family and friends. That makes for loud and happy family celebrations of the holidays and other events in our lives and Norm and I wouldn’t change it for anything. We love them all and feel so grateful to have all of them in our lives. Forty one years ago I found a missing part of my life and I am so grateful I did. I love Norm more and more each day. We may argue and be very vocal about our beliefs but at the end of the day our relationship is still going strong. It’s the little things in life that mean so much. Like letting me have the last cup of coffee or going on an adventure that scares you but he loves it.  I am so happy to be on this Journey with Norm and I hope we have a lot of fun and happy Adventures along the way.  Looking forward to all the years ahead of us and praying we can walk this road together for many more years.

I couldn’t resist taking this picture of Norm trying to figure out if he could get his mouth around his sandwich. He did succeed and he said it was delicious. We were lunching at Syberg’s in St. Louis, Missouri.

Today we are going to go bike part of the Katy Trail that we can see from our window. Hopefully Norm’s bike tire is doing good as he has replaced the inner tube twice now. His bike is only a year old and he’s been quite frustrated with the that bike tire. The old saying of “They don’t make things like they use to ” comes to mind.  Also we plan to BBQ some pork steaks for dinner and this afternoon go on a DQ run for ice cream as a calm and cool way to celebrate our anniversary. Of course later we will toast each other with some Kentucky Bourbon!

Well I need to get moving or we will be riding in the extreme heat of the day. I hope all of you have a Wonderful Sunday filled with Peace and Love.
